Finally, a Dreamweaver template that focuses on 100% CSS!
We've designed a Dreamweaver template that utilizes CSS almost to it's fullest
extent. The entire look and feel of the site can be completely altered by simply
modifying the current stylesheet. Take a look at this same
page attached to an alternative style sheet
The only image used in this entire template is the spacer image. The spacer
image itself is less then 1k in size! The rest is 100% defined by CSS. This is
excellent if you would like to edit the colors. It's as easy as modifying the
CSS, and that's it!
"So tell me, what is the purpose of this Template? Why would I want to
use it?"
Good question. Have you ever needed a website that contains possibly 100's
pages of material? This site is focused on utilizing a menu system that could
have the ability to organize 100's of pages. I have done my absolute best to make
any additions as easy as possible. The submenu is put together in a fashion to
allow you to add further flyout submenu items with little effort. Think of it,
you would have a tremendous head start on your site, saving you valuable time!
"I have noticed the layout looks like www.microsoft.com?"
Yes, you have noticed correctly! I did indeed copy the layout of the Microsoft
website for this template. This I will also tell you: The HTML, CSS and Javascript
is MUCH tidier then the Microsoft bunch website. I am not here to bash Microsoft,
simply because I believe their layout for a massive amount of information is excellent!
I just simply believe that their layout can be re-created in a very efficient
manner, while retaining the usability of the submenu's to organize large amounts
of documents.
"Was this template entirely created in Dreamweaver?"
Yes, as a matter of fact it was. Dreamweaver MX was used to create this template.
Topstyle Pro 3 was used in the creation of the CSS. All javascripts were either
Dreamweaver MX stock, or used from extensions that are readily available for free.
No commercial extensions were used at all. You will need to download a few free
extensions from www.projectseven.com to help manage how the style sheets load
and to create more flyout menu's. |
